ALLENDALE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT RENOVATIONS

REGION

South Carolina

DATE COMPLETED

Fall 2021

DESCRIPTION

The Allendale County School District embarked upon a plan to reduce their facility footprint and consolidate their 1,300 student population into the existing middle school, high school and construct a new child development center. After conducting a district-wide facility assessment, Brownstone was retained again to assist the District with prioritizing how the $5 million total project budget would be disseminated between each project. The 168,634 square foot high school was partially renovated to accommodate middle and high school students. Key to the project was the separation of grade levels. Brownstone included a new middle school administration office in the middle school quadrant of the building and developed hallway gateways that delineated middle/high school zones. The scope of work also included restroom upgrades, new flooring, new ceilings, server room addition, IT infrastructure enhancements, minor demolition and modifications to an existing high school entrance to become the middle school’s main entry point.
